Keep your body healthy
During these crazy times, it is never been more important to keep our bodies healthy and strong. Having a healthy body allows our natural immune system to fight off infections. As we are staying home to help flatten the curve, we are also being more sedentary and more likely to adopt a poor diet to try to pass time easier. In doing so, our bodies are “lazy” to fend for itself because we are being lazy.
We are proactively reducing the risk of infection to ourselves and others by:
-
Washing our hands multiple times a day
-
Avoid touching our faces
-
Sneezing into our arms
-
Staying in when a little under the weather
In addition to defending ourselves externally, we should ALSO be defending our fortress (body) internally by making our immune system strong and responsive.
Briefly, our bodies have 3 lines of defense:
-
Barriers: Skin, mucus membranes, gloves, etc
-
Non-Specific Soldiers: General soldiers that just attacks the invaders
-
Specific Soldiers: Specific soldiers that are trained to attack certain invaders.
To increase/strengthen our immune system internally is pretty easy but also easy NOT to do. You will understand when seeing the list below:
Simply put, just BE HEALTHY. Take care of your body and your body will take care of you.
